Reverend Thomas Bokenkotter, the Pastor of Assumption Church in Walnut Hills, is the founder of the Over-The-Rhine Kitchen (1976), The Walnut Hills Kitchen (1984) and The Walnut Hills Pantry (1984). A highly respected historian, he is the author of several published books on the history of the Catholic Church. In 1984, he converted the Assumption School Building into the Tom Geiger Guest House, apartments for women and children in crisis. Father Bokenkotter has dedicated his ministry to issues of Social Justice and the many needs of the poor.
