After a career in radio and television, Dixie opened a restaurant in Mount Adams. Her talents as a gourmet cook made Cherrington's Restaurant a favorite for her many regular customers. Always concerned for the needs of the poor, Dixie never turned away the needy from her Mount Adams kitchen. She now prepares nourishing meals for the children who attend the Emanual Center on Race Street.
